Ex-Middlesbrough, Barnsley, Doncaster and Leeds Goalkeeper Ross Turnbull Talks About His Retirement

Once a former England under 19 international, Ross Turnbull's spanned across Yorkshire starting in North Yorkshire with Middlesbrough F.C. He had multiple spells in South and West Yorkshire, first with Barnsley, then with Bradford, back to Barnsley followed by a season at Doncaster Rovers, before returning to Barnsley for the third time. Finally ending his career in West Yorkshire with Leeds United.


Ross Turnbull's professional career lasted 15 years, playing for nine different clubs all in the English Football League and Premier League. He made a total of 148 league appearances in his career, 105 of which, came whilst playing for Yorkshire clubs.


In his career, Ross won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012 and received a medal after being an unused substitute as the Blues beat Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties after a Didier Drogba scored a late equaliser to make it 1-1.
