Bradford City travel to Glanford Park to face Scunthorpe United as they hope to move further clear of the League Two relegation zone.
The Bantams’ last result was a 0-0 draw to Port Vale in 2020, whilst Scunthorpe lost 3-1 to Stevenage despite taking an early lead through Devarn Green.
Scunthorpe are winless in five league meetings with Bradford (D3 L2) since beating the Bantams 2-1 in November 2017.
Bradford have lost just one of their last six league visits to Glanford Park to face Scunthorpe (W2 D3), a 2-3 defeat in March 2017.
Since losing five consecutive league games in November/December, Bradford have since gone unbeaten in League Two (P5 W3 D2), keeping back-to-back clean sheets against Tranmere and Port Vale.
Elsewhere in League Two, Harrogate Town will face Cambridge United at the Abbey Stadium on Saturday.
The Sulphurites won 2-1 in their last fixture on Boxing Day against ten-man Oldham Athletic with George Thomson grabbing a brace.
Cambridge United travelled to Grimsby Town last weekend, beating the Mariners 1-2 with goals from Adam May and Paul Mullin.
This will be the first ever meeting between Cambridge United and Harrogate Town in any competition.
Cambridge have lost four of the last six matches when facing a side for the very first time in the Football League (W2), failing to score in three of those matches.
Harrogate have won two of their last three league games (L1), with each of those victories coming on the road – as many victories as in their previous 11 League Two matches.
In the FA Cup, Leeds United will be hoping to avoid a cup upset as they take on League Two outfit, Crawley Town, at the People’s Pension Stadium on Sunday.
Last time out, Leeds lost 3-0 to Tottenham Hotspur with Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Toby Alderweireld on the scoresheet before Matt Doherty received his marching orders late on.
The Red Devils won 1-0 away from home against Bolton Wanderers last weekend, with George Francomb grabbing the game’s only goal before Bolton received a late red card.
The Whites have been eliminated in the third round in each of their last three campaigns, their worst run since a four-season stretch between 2003-04 and 2006-07.
Leeds have lost two of their last three third round matches as a Premier League side, most recently against Arsenal in 2003-04.
On Saturday, Huddersfield Town will host League One newcomers, Plymouth Argyle, in the FA Cup.
The Terriers lost 1-2 to Reading last time out despite taking an early lead through Fraizer Campbell, whilst Luke Jephcott gave Argyle a 1-0 home win over Gillingham last weekend.
Huddersfield have won their last six home meetings with Plymouth, with these matches all taking place in league competition between 1987 and 2011.
Plymouth have been eliminated from all four of their FA Cup ties against Huddersfield, with this the first meeting between the sides in the competition since February 1966 (Plymouth 0-2 Huddersfield).
Huddersfield have been eliminated at the third-round stage of the FA Cup in each of the last two campaigns, last going out at this stage in three consecutive seasons between 1985/86 and 1988/89 (a run of four).
Also on Saturday, Middlesbrough will travel to the capital to face fellow Championship outfit, Brentford, in the FA Cup.
Despite an early scare, Boro won 3-1 away to Wycombe Wanderers in their last match, with goals from Marcus Browne, Marcus Tavernier and Chuba Akpom.
Brentford were knocked-out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, losing 2-0 to Tottenham Hotspur with Josh Dasilva picking up a late red card for the Bees.
Brentford have won three of their four FA Cup meetings with Middlesbrough (L1), with this the first such game between them since January 1964 (2-1 Brentford).
After a 12-game unbeaten run against Brentford in all competitions between 1986-2018, Middlesbrough are winless in their last four against the Bees (D1 L3).
Middlesbrough have lost their last three away games in the FA Cup, as many as they had in their previous 18 on the road in the competition (W6 D9).
Hull City were due to play Wigan Athletic on Saturday but will now take on Sunderland instead after the Latics cancelled the original fixture due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
In a statement, Hull City said: “The EFL have confirmed that Hull City’s League One fixture away to Wigan Athletic on Saturday 9th January has been suspended.
“The Latics informed the EFL that they would be unable to fulfil their next two fixtures following several positive COVID-19 tests and the requirements for players and staff to self-isolate as per EFL and government guidance in order to mitigate against the risk of further infection.
“A revised date will be announced in due course.”
The Tigers were due to travel to the Stadium of Light on Boxing Day, but after that was called off, the fixture needed rearranging and with both sides available, the Black Cats agreed to play the game.
Grant McCann’s men beat ten-man Charlton Athletic at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday, winning 2-0 with goals from Hakeeb Adelakun and Greg Docherty, whilst Sunderland drew 0-0 with Northampton Town.
Sunderland are unbeaten in their last five league games against Hull City (W3 D2) since a 1-3 defeat to the Tigers in December 2014.
None of the last 10 league meetings hosted by Sunderland against Hull have ended level, with the Black Cats winning seven of those matches (L3).
