Ridings Roundup (North, East and West Yorkshire): Bantams Batter Southend

Bradford City returned to winnings ways in style with a stunning 3-0 win against bottom of the table Southend United, in League Two, on Tuesday night.

Strikes from Callum Cooke and Elliot Watt put the Bantams into a commanding lead, with the latter producing an excellent shot from the edge of the box which found its way past the Shrimpers goalkeeper.

Just two minutes before halftime, Bradford put the game to bed after Harry Pritchard turned in a Billy Clarke free kick at close range.

The result ends the Bantams winless run of four games and they now sit 15th in the table.

In the Championship, Middlesbrough will feel disappointed to only come away from Ewood Park with a point after drawing 0-0 with Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.

Boro had 20 shots in the game but only managed to get three on target.

Britt Assombalonga had the best chance of the match for Middlesbrough after he managed to head over from a yard out in the first half.

The home side hung on for a point but drop into 15th place, whilst Middlesbrough hold onto fifth in the table.

Huddersfield Town lost 2-1 at home to Bristol City, despite being a goal up with under 15 minutes left.

Josh Koroma put the Terriers into the lead two minutes before halftime after a superb cross from Isaac Mbenza.

However, Bristol City turned the game on its head, equalising through Jay Dasilva’s first ever professional goal, followed swiftly by Jamie Paterson who completed the comeback.

The defeat meant that the Terriers fell into the bottom half of the table, whilst the Robins moved into the Championship playoff places.

Harrogate Town were beaten by manager-less Tranmere Rovers, 1-0, on Tuesday night in League Two.

Rovers substitute, Otis Khan, tucked away the ball with around 11 minutes left to play, after the ball dropped to him inside the Sulphurites box.

Harrogate fall into the bottom half of the table ahead of their FA Cup tie on Friday night, whilst Tranmere rise to 17th.
