Hull City were the only EFL side in North, East or West Yorkshire to win this weekend, beating MK Dons 3-1 in League One.

Josh Magennis opened the scoring for the Tigers after converting his shot into the bottom corner following a Josh Emmanuel cross in the eighth minute.

However, it took the hosts just three minutes to equalise through former Middlesbrough striker, Stephen Walker.

Magennis restored the visitors lead straight from kick off, this time finding the top corner from a Callum Elder cross.

James Scott wrapped up the three points for Hull with 15 minutes left to play heading home from close range.

The result puts Hull top of League One, two points clear of Peterborough United, with a game in hand.

Leeds hit the woodwork three times against Arsenal.

Leeds United were held to a 0-0 draw at Elland Road by ten-man Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League.

A very open first half had plenty of shots but very few clear chances, with the closest effort coming direct from a cross by Nicholas Pepe which struck the face of the bar.

However, early into the second half, the game swung heavily in the Whites’ favour, when Pepe was sent off for headbutting Ezgjan Alioski.

The Whites controlled large parts of the second half and had plenty of efforts on goal, the best coming ten minutes from time when Rodrigo clipped the crossbar after he cut in from the right onto the his left foot before taking aim from the edge of the box.

Just minutes later, the Gunners proved they were not out of the game and Illan Meslier was asked to make a brilliant one-on-one save from Bukayo Saka, who broke through the Leeds defence but saw his shot saved.

Patrick Bamford had a late chance but guided his header onto the post along with Raphinha, who also hit the post with a strike that was pretty much the last kick of the game.

The result means that the Whites move up to 14th whilst the Gunners sit in 11th.

The Terriers look dejected after conceading against the Potters.

In the Championship, Huddersfield town were on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller at the Bet365 Stadium, losing 4-3 to Stoke City.

The Terriers took the lead inside the first half through a superb volley by Carel Eiting which found the bottom corner.

However, two deadly strikes in two minutes from Tyrese Campbell spun the game on its head less than ten minutes after Huddersfield had taken the lead.

Isaac Mbenza did equalise for the visitors after his darting run broke the offside trap before he slid the ball into the corner of the goal.

Stoke did go into halftime a goal up after Richard Stearman managed to deflect the ball into his own net.

Sam Clucas doubled the Potters’ advantage in the second half, firing the ball into the top corner from 18 yards following some tricky footwork inside the Huddersfield box.

Naby Sarr did head in a consolation goal moments later but it was not enough for the Terriers who drop to 16th in the table.

Marcus Tavernier slips as he takes his penalty.

It was a tale of two penalties at the Riverside Stadium as Middlesbrough’s unbeaten run came to end, losing 1-0 to Norwich City.

Former Boro defender, Ben Gibson, caught Marcus Tavernier in the box early in the second half giving the home side a penalty.

Tavernier stepped up to take it, but as he struck the ball, his standing foot slipped, deflecting his strike down the centre into the back of the net.

However, the referee picked up on the ball hitting both of Tavernier’s feet and disallowed the goal.

The Canaries then got their chance from the spot after Hayden Coulson tripped Max Aarons in the box.

Teemu Pukki then made no mistake, rolling the ball into the corner with Marcus Bettinelli diving the opposite way.

The result means Norwich go top of the Championship whilst Boro fall out of the playoffs, dropping to eighth.

Jon Stead in action for the Sulphurites.

Bradford City and Harrogate Town both suffered 3-0 away defeats this weekend against Salford City and Leyton Orient, respectively in League Two.

The Bantams made a poor start at the Peninsula Stadium with Luke Burgess tapping in the rebound from a save by Richard O’Donnell.

Just ten minutes later, Harrogate also went a goal down, when Danny Johnson ran through and drilled in a low shot at the Breyer Group Stadium.

In the meantime, it was Bradford’s turn the concede, which they did midway through the first half with Ian Henderson scoring from close range.

Once again, Harrogate conceded ten minutes after the Bantams with Johnson grabbing his second with a 20-yard piledriver.

Bradford’s misery was compounded in first half stoppage time when Luke Burgess completed the scoring by adding his second of the game.

Johnson completed his hat-trick with just 17 minutes left of match, heading home from a corner.

The results mean that the Bantams slip to 19th whilst the Sulphurites drop to 14th.
