David McGoldrick scored two against the Red Devils earlier in the season.

Sheffield United have kept one clean sheet in their last 34 top-flight matches against Manchester United, a 1-0 home win in September 1972; their last away league clean sheet against the Red Devils was in a 1-0 win in April 1962, with Alan Hodgkinson in goal for the Blades.

Cardiff appointed Mick McCarthy as their new manager after sacking Neil Harris following a 0-1 defeat to QPR.

McCarthy’s last Championship match was also against Barnsley in April 2018 with Ipswich Town, a 1-0 win.

Barnsley-born McCarthy is unbeaten in nine Championship meetings with the Tykes (W4 D5).
