Winless Sheffield United will be aiming to pick up their first victory of the season when they host West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Last time out, the Blades were comfortably beaten, 4-1 by Chelsea, despite taking an early lead through David McGoldrick.

However, the Blues turned the game on its head in the first half through goals from Tammy Abraham and Ben Chilwell.

Thiago Silva and Timo Werner sealed the game late on leaving the Blades rock bottom of the Premier League.

Visitors, West Ham, were victorious in stoppage time against Fulham, with Tomas Soucek scoring late on, before Lukasz Fabianski easily saved Ademola Lookman’s chipped penalty.

Sheffield United have a 100% home record against the Hammers in the Premier League but have become just the fifth team in Premier League history to pick up just one point in their first eight games of a season, though two of the previous four have survived the drop (Southampton in 1998-99 and Sunderland in 2013-14).

Only in 1990-91 have the Blades ever failed to win any of their first nine games in a league season.

Barnsley's Dominik Frieser battles with England legend, Wayne Rooney.

In the Championship, Barnsley host Nottingham Forest at Oakwell, as the Tykes look to continue their great start under new boss Valerien Ismael.

Goals from Conor Chaplin and Victor Adeboyejo put Forests’ rivals, Derby County, to the sword in the Tykes’ last fixture.

After a torrid start, new Forest boss, Chris Hughton, has started to turn his sides fortunes around this season following back-to-back wins against Coventry City and Wycombe Wanderers.

Striker, Lyle Taylor, has found the back of the net three times in his last two games and is definitely one the Barnsley defence need to watch out for.

None of the last eight league meetings between Barnsley and Nottingham Forest have ended level (four wins each) since a goalless draw in April 2013.

Barnsley will be hoping to win the three points on home turf in what is expected to be a close encounter.

The Millers celebrate their late winner.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Rotherham United travel to South Wales to face Swansea City on Saturday.

The Millers showed their fighting spirit before the international break, scoring late on to beat Preston North End.

Richard Wood put Rotherham a goal up in the second half before Ryan Ledson equalised late on for the visitors.

Preston’s joy was short lived when Matt Crooks struck soon after to give the Millers all three points.

Swansea City also fell to a late defeat last time out, losing 1-0 away to Norwich City, with Marco Stiepermann’s sweet strike sinking the Swans.

Rotherham have won just one of their last 16 trips to Swansea in the Football League (D7 L8), a 2-0 victory in April 2006, and will be hoping to end their woeful run at the Liberty Stadium.

After the sacking of Garry Monk, Sheffield Wednesday appointed former Middlesbrough boss, Tony Pulis, who will take charge of his first Owls game against Preston North End, on Saturday.

The Owls went into the international break collecting ten points after victory against Bournemouth, a draw against Millwall and winning six points back from their 12-point deduction.

This however was not enough for Monk to keep his job and now Wednesday go to Deepdale with Pulis at the helm.

Coaches, James Beatie, Andrew Hughes, and Daryl Flahaven have all left allowing Pulis to bring in Craig Gardner from Birmingham City.

Preston come into this fixture off the back of a disappointing away defeat to Rotherham United, and have yet to win at home this season.

Despite Preston’s poor home form, Wednesday have won just one of their last 22 trips to Deepdale in the Football League (D10 L11), a 2-0 victory in December 2011, so if it was possible for both teams to lose, then that is what would surely happen.

Rovers were unable to stop the Wolves' golden boy.

In League One, Doncaster Rovers face Sunderland as they battled to get back into playoff contention.

Last time out, Rovers were knocked out of the Papa John’s Trophy by Wolves u21s, despite Fejiri Okenabirhie scoring from the spot in a 2-1 defeat.

Opponents, Sunderland, lost 2-1 to MK Dons last weekend despite taking the lead through Max Power.

Cameron Jerome equalised for the Dons before Scott Fraser converted from the penalty spot to seal defeat for the Black Cats.

Rovers have never won a league match against Sunderland (D1 L5), with their goalless draw at the Stadium of Light last season was the first point they’ve picked up against the Black Cats.
