Rotherham United produced one of their best performances of the season, according to manager Paul Warne, drawing 2-2 with promotion-challengers AFC Bournemouth in the Championship, on Saturday.

Bournemouth went a goal up through Junior Stanislas from the penalty spot after Jamal Blackman clipped Dominic Solanke in the box.

However, the Millers equalised through Freddie Ladapo later in the first half, after he side-footed a Joe Mattock cross into the corner.

Ladapo grabbed his second five minutes after half time, looping his cross over everyone, including the goalkeeper, hitting the inside of the post before crossing the line.

Solanke did equalise for the Cherries soon after, but the hosts were closest to a winner, with Angus MacDonald’s incredible overhead kick being brilliantly saved by Asmir Begovic, before Matt Crooks turned in the loose ball, only to be flagged offside.

Despite a superb performance, Rotherham still remain in 19th place.

Joe Wildsmith came back into the starting 11 against Stoke.

Sheffield Wednesday held Stoke City to a 0-0 draw at Hillsborough on Saturday.

It was a game of very few chances with both sides cancelling each other out.

Wednesday’s best chance fell to Kadeem Harris in the first half, after he drilled a low shot from the edge of the box that needed clearing off the line by veteran midfielder, John Obi Mikel.

Tony Pulis will be pleased with the Owls’ defending throughout the match with ‘keeper, Joe Wildsmith, only needing to make one meaningful save to keep out a late strike from Sam Vokes.

The result means that Wednesday stay second bottom in the league.

Barnsley's Conor Chaplin.

Also, in the Championship, Barnsley received back-to-back defeats for the first time under Valerien Ismael, losing 2-1 to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

Predatory striker, Adam Armstrong, opened the scoring for Rovers just before half time, firing a cutback into the roof of the net.

Rovers doubled their lead with just 12 minutes left on the clock when Sam Gallagher drilled the ball into the far corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Youngster, Romal Palmer, volley in a late goal for Barnsley, but it was not enough and Barnsley now sit in 16th place.

The Blades players could not believe their luck.

In the Premier League, Sheffield United continued their poor start to the season, losing to West Bromwich Albion 1-0, who picked up their first league win of the season.

Despite a bright start by the Blades, which should have seen them a goal up inside the first 30 seconds, West Brom took the lead when Connor Gallagher drilled in a strike from the edge of the box on 13 minutes, after United failed to properly clear a corner.

Chris Wilder said his side only had themselves to blame after the game, with the Blades missing three guilt edge chances deep into the second half, with George Baldock skying the ball from eight yards, Oli McBurnie seeing his tame effort pushed away by ‘keeper Sam Johnstone and Lys Mousset turning over with the last kick of the game from three yards out.

The result means Sheffield United are the only side in the in the top four divisions not to win a game this season, and only Yeovil Town have not picked up a league win in top six tiers of English football this season.
