Who should your team sign in January?

With the January transfer window looming, football clubs across Yorkshire will be involved in lots of business, incomings and outgoings alike.

Below, we shall be looking at which one player your team should sign to improve the squad and allow your side to meet its targets for the season.

Huddersfield Town: Dominic Solanke

The Liverpool youngster is full of potential and goals, which is something that Huddersfield have struggled with this season.

Although game time has been very limited for Solanke, he is a regular in the England under 21 team, where he scores goals for fun.

Solanke may be tempted with a loan to a fellow Premier League side, after it seems he has slipped down the pecking order behind derby-hero Divock Origi.

Although this may seem like an underwhelming signing for the Terriers, a lot of clubs will be after Solanke as strikers are hard to come by in the January.

Leeds United: Reece Oxford

Leeds are flying in the Championship this season but they still lack defenders.

Reece Oxford and Leeds could be a perfect match, with the West Ham youngster needing game time after a unsuccessful time in Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Oxford was highly tipped after he broke into the West Ham team at 16 years old, but has struggled for games in the past couple of years.

The West Ham starlet is quick and powerful, he would fit the system perfectly as he is comfortable on the ball, and can even play in midfield.

This mover would be perfect for all parties involved.

Middlesbrough: Rajiv van La Parra

Adama Traore was the name that Boro fans will have wanted me to say, but unfortunately I don't see Wolves letting him go.

However van La Parra is a superb alternative, he has the pace and trickery they are missing, and would definitely fit the Adama-shaped whole in their squad.

Boro lack goals, not strikers, they need more creative flair in their midfield and that is what van La Parra's game is all about.

The only stumbling block may be that Huddersfield might want to let him go permanently rather than take him on loan.

A loan would favour Middlesbrough to help with their promotion push, with an option to make it permanent in the summer.

Sheffield United: Jermain Defoe

There has been some talk recently the Chris Wilder is after a striker, but looking at their goal record, this may come as a shock.

But Sheffield United create a massive amount of chances each game, and often don't put anywhere near enough in the back of the net.

Defoe would be a great loan signing for the club, as the veteran is vastly experienced and a proven goalscorer.

He hasn't had the opportunities at Bournemouth but should relish the challenge to step down a league, to lead the line in a promotion battle.

His big wages may prove a problem for the Blades, but they should definitely push the boat out for a man of his quality.

Sheffield Wednesday: Ainsley Maitland-Niles

Circulation about Jos Luhukay's future has stunted any transfer talk at Hillsborough, along with P&S (Profit and Sustainability).

Wednesday have lacked pace in there side since Carlos Carvalhal's appointment in 2015, with failed "pace merchants" like Aiden McGeady, Will Buckley and Callum McManaman coming and going.

Maitland-Niles might be the man they've been missing, the Gunners youngster has been given a few games in the first team, but Emery may look to send him out on loan for the remainder of the season.

The wonderkid can play all the way across the midfield and would add the pace and power the Owls have been missing.

Hull City: Ryan Tafazolli

Hull really need to improve at the back.

Conceding goals has been a big problem for over a year, and its an issue that hasn't been resolved.

Peterborough man Ryan Tafazolli seems to be Hull's target.

The strong centre half knows Adkins well and would slot straight into their back line.

The only questions would be the fee, and how quickly he would adapt to Championship football.

Tafazolli is highly rated and should go a long way to improving their defence.

Rotherham United: Keinan Davis

Rotherham ideally would like more firepower up top.

Defence may also be an area they loom to improve, but first priority should be the acquisition of a new striker.

There is no better option for Rotherham than young Villa striker Keinan Davis.

Aston Villa would be open to a loan deal with the striker needing games since his injury.

He has pace and power which should serve the Millers well and offer another goal threat in their race for survival.

Barnsley: Lewis Wing

Boro fans have a lot to say on talented midfielder Lewis Wing, a lot seem to want him in their first team.

Pulis has given him a few games but not as many as he would like.

It seems that Barnsley would be a nice fit for the Teesside youngster.

He would help bolster an already strong squad, as they push for promotion.

Wing is very hard-working which fits the way the Tykes like to play.

If anything, Wing would offer something Barnsley don't have, a midfielder with height, pace and an eye for goal.

Doncaster Rovers: Hamza Choudhury

Another Premier League youngster that has previously been given games, but not consistently.

A loan move seems to be on the cards for the Leicester midfielder.

League One would be a good fit for Choudhury, and would be welcomed at Doncaster Rovers.

Like Lewis Wing, he would strengthen a good midfield as Rovers push for a play off position.

He is very good at breaking up play and starting attacks, something that Doncaster have maybe lacked over the course of the season.

Bradford City: Martin Cranie

Bradford's fortunes have improved recently, and look in a better position to escape relegation.

Defensively the Bantams are still struggling and are in desperate need of an experienced head.

Martin Cranie is likely to be made available in January due to the lack of games he's played at Sheffield United.

Cranie can play anywhere across the back line which is exactly what Bradford need.

The Blades may want to see him go permanently, but Bradford's budget may only stretch to a loan which could cause problems.

However this is definitely a player Bradford should push the boat out for.
