Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday will do battle on Tuesday night in the Championship at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Terriers will be hoping to build off a superb result on Saturday, when they beat Queens Park Rangers 2-0, with first half goals from Josh Koroma and Harry Toffolo.

Wednesday could not hold off Norwich City last time out, losing 2-1 at Carrow Road, despite taking the lead through Josh Windass in the second half, with the hosts striking twice in the last ten minutes to sink the Owls.

Harry Toffolo scores the Terriers' second.

In this fixture last season, the Owls came out on top against the Terriers, winning 2-0 with goals from Steven Fletcher and Sam Winnall, who have both since left the club.

Huddersfield are winless in 11 matches against Sheffield Wednesday in all competitions (D5 L6), scoring just three goals.

Sheffield Wednesday are unbeaten in their last seven away league games against the Terriers (W5 D2), keeping seven clean sheets.

Delight for former Wednesday striker Sam Winnall in this fixture last season.

The only team in Football League history to keep a clean sheet in eight consecutive away games against an opponent is Chelsea at Bolton between 2004 and 2011.

Tuesday’s hosts are looking to win three consecutive home league games for the first time since February 2017.

Since leaving Huddersfield, Jordan Rhodes has started four away league games against the Terriers, scoring five goals and assisting another.

This is Sheffield Wednesday boss Tony Pulis’ first match against Huddersfield in the second tier since February 2000, when a Steve Claridge goal gave his Portsmouth side a 1-0 win.
