Founded in 2017, the Yorkshire International Football Association (YIFA) joined the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA) at the beginning of the year.
CONIFA was founded in 2013 to oversee international competition among the non-FIFA affiliated associations in the world.
To qualify as a CONIFA team your region/nation must provide evidence that it has it's own identity and independence, and additionally not be recognised by FIFA or UEFA.
Yorkshire is not affiliated with FIFA or UEFA and is therefore unable to participate in their competitions.
Who is Yorkshire's manager?

The current kit is provided by Yorkshire-based sportswear company Godzown Sports, and has multiple shades over blue from a light blue at the top of the shirt, to the navy socks.

Inspired by the Yorkshire flag, the motif of the Yorkshire international football team features a stylised White Rose of York on a blue shield, as shown below.
Can you play for Yorkshire?
There are only two requirements for you to be eligible for a call up to the squad.
First of all, you have to have been born in Yorkshire, and secondly you have to be playing in non-league (the National League or lower).
Otherwise Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker and Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, both born in Sheffield, would've been theoretical contenders.
YIFA Chairman Phil Hegarty joked: "The sort of football they will be playing will be proper Yorkshire football, not Premier League football, we don't want people diving on the floor and shouting at the referee."
What are their aims?
As stated on their official website, the YIFA are hoping to empower the region giving the people an association they can be proud of.
They are also looking to raise the profile of Yorkshire, and by doing this improving the economy with tourism.
In addition, the YIFA want to bring cultures together and are hoping by part of CONIFA they can achieve this easier.
Finally, they want to be competitive on the world stage, knowing that improving results on the pitch, will help with results off it.
